Q. Do you make T-shirts with celebrities on them?
A. While this is a wonderful concept, at the moment we do not have any items that feature famous people or athletes. Our brands’ focus is on heritage inspired prints. We take inspiration from popular fabric dyeing techniques/print types from countries such as India (for example Batik, Bandhani, Kalamkari, Sanganeri, Sambalpuri, etc.) and modify them for use in our active wear clothing. Even our T-shirts are primarily based on the same concept. If your search for celebrity clothing brought you here, it’s likely that you are confusing our brand with a different brand.
Q. Could you tell us the story behind the name of your brand?
A. Of Course! I grew up in India and moved to the United States in my 20’s. I feel that my life straddles two very different cultures, each of which have had left lasting imprints on my thought process. There are the very colorful festivals of India, such as Holi and Diwali and the many smaller, lesser-known ones, from the many different subcultures from the different states within India. Ask anyone who grew up in India, they will tell you how they associate Bandhani with the desert state of Rajasthan or the state of Gujarat, and a mention of those prints conjure up associations with weddings in Rajasthan. Batik reminds me of West Bengal, and Durga Puja festivities, Sambalpuri prints, I associate with the State of Orissa and a visit to the famous Jagannath temple in Puri, Paisley print from the state of Punjab with their very energetic people and Bhangra dances and so on. So, all these prints were often associated with some happy memories. Fast forward to 2025, having spent a couple decades in the US, I have my share of cultural influences from the western culture as well! The Orange and Purple association with Halloween, the red and green and white association with Christmas, the pastels of springtime and easter to name a few. I am hoping that with my brand, Cultural Imprints, I am able to use my childhood impressions and keep them relevant to my current life here in the US. I do find that while I miss the India of my childhood, the beauty of my adopted home and its own culture is also undeniable. I am hoping to bring designs that people from both cultures can enjoy and cherish.
Q. I don’t associate Activewear with Indian clothing. Why did you choose to focus on Activewear for your brand?
A. I decided to focus on Activewear for two reasons:
1) I love wearing soft comfortable clothes. I find them to be practical, and they tend to be the ones I find myself reaching out for most often.
2) These favorite clothes of mine, rarely have my favorite prints on them!
Q. Do you offer any coupons?
A. Yes, we often offer coupons that are displayed on the store notice when available. We also send special coupons to current customers and for anyone who signs up for our monthly newsletter.
Q. What is your typical turnaround time?
A. Once your order is placed with us, it typically takes about two weeks for you to receive your order (Some items, such as Shoes and Windbreakers take about three weeks). The first week after order placement, the design is (digitally) printed on the fabric and then cut and sewn into the garment just for you. the second week is typically how long the package is in transit. However, if you are purchasing our products for a special person for a special day, we strongly recommend placing an order as early as possible to ensure timely delivery and avoid disappointment due to printing or shipping delays!
Q. Are you currently accepting orders?
A. Yes, we are currently accepting orders.
Q. Do you ship to the USA?
A. Yes, we ship to North America, including to Mexico, USA and Canada.
Q. Do you ship to Australia/UK/Europe.
A. Yes, we do ship worldwide, however we recommend that you drop us a line if you’re planning on placing an order from any country outside of North America so that we can ensure a smoother transaction.
Q. I have so many choices for activewear, why would I buy my activewear from Cultural Imprints Company?
A. Cultural Imprints LLC, doing business as Cultural Imprints Company is a small online clothing store which specializes in printed activewear and loungewear clothing items. Our prints are typically inspired by South Asian motifs and fabric prints and weaves, a niche area that as of the time of writing this does not have sufficient representation in the activewear area. Therefore, if you enjoy South Asian fabric designs, we believe that our products will provide you with unique options for your activewear and loungewear wardrobe. In addition to the unique designs, we also pride ourselves in not overproducing garments that might end up in landfills. Each garment is only printed and created when you the customer places an order with us. Only then do our wonderful printing partners print out the design on a suitable fabric and cut and sew the fabric for your unique garment! Additionally, a large number of our products are made from recycled fabrics! So, in summary, you’re not just ordering something that is unique, but something that is comfortable, useful and is good for the earth!
Q. Where do you source your designs from?
A. We source our designs from a variety of sources, including commercial textile pattern sellers, in-house design and from artists who create South Asian themed art.
Q. Do you accept returns?
A. We do accept returns under specific circumstances, such as when the product was defective or damaged. Just be sure to keep the garment in the original, unused condition and packaging and notify us of the damage/defect as soon as you receive the product, and no later than 7 days after the delivery date. We will also consider replacing products lost in transit, if we have evidence to prove that the product never reached you. However, please be advised that since each piece of clothing is custom created for you, we do not accept returns if you just did not like the product or if the sizing did not work out.
